Data Collection

Unless otherwise specifically noted, all of the data and analysis produced by our firm is based upon factual data collected from new and resale home sales transaction data as filed with the County Recorders, permit transaction level data collected from permit issuing cities and counties, and from product, plan and pricing data compiled from home builder websites and builder staff.

All data is collected monthly every month, and not on a quarterly or rolling monthly basis as is often the case with other data providers.

All data analysis is performed by our staff and principals. Analysis is based upon "census" methodology, by actually counting the transaction level data which we collect. No statistical sampling techniques are utilized.

Data sets produced by the firm are produced in Microsoft Access or Microsoft Excel formats for easy use by clients.
